Homori Home 2025<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The home of Konstantinos <\/strong>and Spyridoula Patouhas<\/strong> in Homori was built in 1928 by skilled artisans from the nearby village of Kozitza. Designed as a three\u2011story residence, it features two upper floors that can comfortably sleep up to ten people, along with a kitchen and a large family room. The first-floor basement provides generous storage space.<\/p>\n

From its three balconies, one can take in sweeping views of the village and the distant mountains to the south. When it was completed, the house stood out as the largest home in Homori and the only one with a roof made of red ceramic tiles. Travelers approaching the village from Nafpaktos could recognize it from far away.<\/p>\n

My father, known by his nickname \u201cGardikas\u201d (\u0393\u03b1\u03c1\u03b4\u03b9\u03ba\u03b1\u03c2), made many trips back and forth to the United States to earn the money needed to build this beautiful home. His dedication gave our family a place that served us well throughout our youth and continues to welcome us each year when we return to our beloved village.<\/p>\n

The house has been carefully rehabilitated since 1985 to meet contemporary standards. It now includes two full bathrooms, a modern kitchen, heating and air conditioning, new replacement windows, and a new roof. Steel beams were added in the basement to stabilize the structure. One original feature remains: the large vat where grape juice from stomped grapes once collected before becoming homemade wine stored in barrels that lined the basement walls.<\/p>\n

We cherish every moment spent in this home during our annual visits and always wish we had more time there. We are grateful to our parents and grandparents for their vision and for giving us this gift that continues to enrich our lives and will do so for generations to come.<\/p>\n
